Cynthia’s designs are a combination of printmaking techniques and sewing. After training in printmaking and textiles and achieving a BA and Masters of Fine Arts Degree, Cynthia experiments with silk screen printing on fabric which is then transformed into functional handbags. Each bag is a creative challenge for her to craft a harmonious union of textures, shapes and images.
Art is offered in the form of a handbag and therefore will reach people in their daily life. Her silk screened designs are the result of appropriation of images from old illustrations, patterns and her own original drawings.
