Celebrate Canada’s 150th Anniversary with Canadian-Made Gifts

June 11, 2017

Shop locally at our store for Canadian-made items to celebrate Canada’s 150th Anniversary  and check out some fabulous gift ideas for yourself or someone special. We are proud to feature, support and stock unusual and interesting items from a variety of Canadian artists from coast to coast.

Two artists that we carry (dconstruct and Atelier Trema) are both featured on page 36 of Canadian Living‘s Canada 150 issue of July 2017.

dconstruct designs and manufactures unique, eco-friendly jewelry with recycled resin; all with a minimum of 40% pre-consumer recycled material. We carry dconstruct ecoresin bracelets and earrings, not their concrete pieces.

Atelier Trema

Marie-Joël Turgeon of Atelier Trema creates decorative pieces inspired by the American east coast. We carry Atelier Trema’s pottery pears, not the buoys.

We have plenty of other top picks for Canadian gift items like those shown in the pictures and images listed below to intrigue, delight and help make your gift giving a success for anyone on your shopping list!

And remember when something in our store catches your eye, add it to our Wish List and have your gift giver(s) ask us about our wish list when they come into the store. We’ll let them know the special something you are hoping-dreaming-longing for, so they can surprise you with an item you selected.

Eleanor & I

These lovely hand-made crocheted dolls are a nice squishy for a child to hold. Made by a local artist in Wortley Village of London, Ontario.

Gifts for Men

We have plenty of gift ideas for men for occasions throughout the year, including the upcoming Fathers Day, such as: beer glasses by Artech (very Canadiana), wall art by Gordon Hare, cedar wood carvings by Kimberley Francis, shave kits and soap by Wild Prairie Soap Company, wood coasters and boxes by Driftwood Studio, iPhone cases by Cedar Mountain, etc.

Gifts for Women

We carry a carefully curated collection of up-and-coming ladies wear from Canadian clothing designers, stunning jewellery, stylish accessories, 100% natural bath and body products, luxurious eco-soy naturally fragranced and many, many more Canadian goods just for women.

Gifts for Teachers

The end of school is right around the corner, so stop in to find a gift to show your appreciation for a teacher’s dedication this past school year. The two cuffs in the picture have the quote on the inside noted below partly inspired by the quote “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.” by Henry B Adams.

Happy Birthday Canada!
