The artist ethically forages for local plants for dye, and experiments with plants and minerals to create unique, naturally dyed fabrics. This basket is made with cotton rope that has been dyed using Oak Galls & Iron. The dyed rope is then sewn into shape using off-white threads, adding more interest to the basket. Small pieces of hemp fabric dyed using Indigo, Madder & Cutch is wrapped along the basket for added texture. A slit across the top allows the yarn to flow easily through for knitting projects.
